Phil writes… “I spent dozens of hours putting it together and now, I’m trying to share it with those who would appreciate it! It is a work in progress and I would love any suggestions or input!”

Band choices were made based on the look, subject matter, attitude, lifestyle, time period, influence, affiliated bands, radio/TV play, and Phil’s memory.

Click on any band photo to see where they are from. You can also click the ‘Timeline’ tab that will show the hair metal movement origins in 1977 and where it grew across the U.S. and Europe through 1994.

Thanks for the great work Phil!

The ‘NASCAR Goes West Tour’ made it’s final pit stop of the year at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California on Sunday, March 22, 2015. Auto Club Speedway is known for its over the top entertainment and this year they did not disappoint with a pre-race concert that featured 80’s glam rockers WARRANT.

Having never seen them live in concert and without Jani Lane, I didn’t know what to expect from the band. As it turned out, Warrant was a big hit to the 10,000 race fans that watched the show as part of the day’s festivities.

Warrant’s set included: ‘Down Boys,’ ‘Heaven,’ ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin,’ ‘I Saw Red’ and closing with their biggest hit, ‘Cherry Pie.’ If you are a fan of Warrant and you have not seen them with lead singer Robert Mason, I highly suggest you check them out… you will have a rocking good time.

Next, it was time for NASCAR to showcase why they are the premier racing sport in America. With over 65,000 fans in attendance, the racing action was exiting from the drop of the green flag. Driver Kevin Harvick from Bakersfield, California has been on a hot streak with finishes in his last 7 races in the top 2… The record is 9. As the laps wound down, Big Bad Brad Keselowski, the number 2 car, came out of nowhere to steal the victory from Harvick on the last lap of the race.
