The 2010 Jägermeister Music Tour came to an end last night as Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax rocked the Universal Gibson Amphitheater in Hollywood, California.
METAL SHOP arrived early to conduct an interview with 2 members of Anthrax but due to unforeseen circumstances, it was scratched
But that did not ruin a great evening of Thrash Metal!!!!
Anthrax was the first band to hit the stage playing classics like ‘I Am The Law’, ‘Indians’ and a special request form Dave Mustaine, who asked them to play ‘A.I.R.’ I can’t forget special back-up vocals by Testament’s very own Chuck Billy during Indians.
Megadeth came out to a packed house and started right off by doing all of ‘Rust in Peace’, their classic album from the early 90′s. Megadeth also played a few other songs like ‘Symphony of Destruction’ and ‘Peace Sells’. At one point, Mustaine told the crowd that there is no riff between any of the bands and introduced ex-member of Megadeth, Kerry King (now with Slayer) as they tore through a great rendition of Rattlehead.
What can I say about the band that closed the show… SLAYER!!!! Seeing Slayer up close I really got a good look at Tom Araya and noticed he does not even headbang anymore due to his back problems. No matter, his vocals were right on cue and with his back up mates: Kerry, Jeff and Dave, the whole band ripped thru a blistering set that included all of ‘Seasons in the Abyss’.
If you didnt get a chance to see them this time around, rumor has it they will be back with the Big 6. Stay tuned to METAL SHOP for more details!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to Evil Rose for the great photos.
