The 2010 Jägermeister Music Tour came to an end last night as Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax rocked the Universal Gibson Amphitheater in Hollywood, California.
METAL SHOP arrived early to conduct an interview with 2 members of Anthrax but due to unforeseen circumstances, it was scratched
But that did not ruin a great evening of Thrash Metal!!!!
Anthrax was the first band to hit the stage playing classics like ‘I Am The Law’, ‘Indians’ and a special request form Dave Mustaine, who asked them to play ‘A.I.R.’ I can’t forget special back-up vocals by Testament’s very own Chuck Billy during Indians.
Megadeth came out to a packed house and started right off by doing all of ‘Rust in Peace’, their classic album from the early 90′s. Megadeth also played a few other songs like ‘Symphony of Destruction’ and ‘Peace Sells’. At one point, Mustaine told the crowd that there is no riff between any of the bands and introduced ex-member of Megadeth, Kerry King (now with Slayer) as they tore through a great rendition of Rattlehead.
What can I say about the band that closed the show… SLAYER!!!! Seeing Slayer up close I really got a good look at Tom Araya and noticed he does not even headbang anymore due to his back problems. No matter, his vocals were right on cue and with his back up mates: Kerry, Jeff and Dave, the whole band ripped thru a blistering set that included all of ‘Seasons in the Abyss’.
If you didnt get a chance to see them this time around, rumor has it they will be back with the Big 6. Stay tuned to METAL SHOP for more details!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to Evil Rose for the great photos.
Some great hair band photos from back in the day were posted at accesshollywood.com.

I sit in my room looking at the CD cover of “Dio at Donington UK: Live 1983 & 1987″. I quickly pop it into my computer, I hear the crowd get louder and the crunch guitar sound practically tears my computer speakers apart!!!!! F*&K yea!!!! is what I say to myself as the adrenaline starts to flow!!!!!
CD 1 was recorded in August 1983 (I was only 13). CD #2 was recorded on Saturday August 22, 1987. Ronnie James Dio was asked to be a SPECIAL GUEST on the bill with Cinderella, W.A.S.P., Anthrax, Metallica and Bon Jovi.
The CD comes with 2 replica all access backstage passes (from both recordings), a booklet with notes and a few rare photos. One that caught my attention was of Dio and Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Ill tell you why… in the booklet there is a grand total of 5 photos…… 2 of Ronnie, 2 of Dio and his band from 1983 and from 1987 and that 1 photo with Dee Snider that you have too see. Go out and get this soon to hear a classic a singing legend left for all of us hard rock fans to enjoy!!!!!!!! R.I.P Ronnie James Dio you will be missed!!!!!

It’s not as many as you might think.
More proof the fix was in when the record labels and traditional radio ruled the music business.
For example, the week of May 21, 1988, Def Leppard’s smash hit ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The #1 song that week? Gloria Estefan ‘Anything For You’. #1′s that followed that year… George Michael ‘One More Try’ and Rick Astley ‘Together Forever’.
Of the four songs just mentioned, which is the most memorable today? I guess you could equate this to the runner-up on American Idol going on to a more successful career.

Okay, I am kinda torn here. Half of my brain says this is kind of awesome… the other half says ‘WTF?!’
